Oxon Woodturners

News

Next month we will be treated to a demonstration by John Boyne-Aitkin, aka "The Bowler Hatted Turner". John is a hugely experienced turner and a very entertaining demonstrator; we very much look forwards to hosting him. The competition theme for this month is to make a "live-edge" bowl. We hope to see you there!

About Us

Welcome to the web page of the Oxon Woodturners which is associated to the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain (AWGB).

We established over 30 years ago (in 1991) as a focus for woodturners in and around Oxfordshire with a wide range of experience and ages. Our meetings (second Thursday of every month at 7.30pm; doors open at 7:00) - see map on contact page - are informal and consist usually of demonstrations or club hands-on evenings. There is always something for both beginners and established turners; new members are always welcome.

We are delighted that the well-known turner Gary Rance is the Patron of our club. Gary is considered one of the fastest and most accurate production woodturners in the UK and is one of only a few whose income comes solely from woodturning. Gary has been a popular demonstrator at the club, combining infectious enthusiasm with pre-eminent skill, and we look forward to a long and happy collaboration with him.

Please contact one of our committee members for more information on the club. Our constitution is available here.
